Your Rider & Spinner Questions Answered:
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND CREATING A FUNDRAISER THROUGH FACEBOOK! Share your profile on Facebook to ask for donations, but when asked if you would like to add the “Donate” button to your post, click NO. This will then post your profile link, and allow people to donate directly to your page. When you create a fundraiser via Facebook by adding the “Donate” button to your post about Pedal the Cause, what you actually agree to do is to make a donation to their charity partner Network for Good. They inform you that they will deliver the funds to the charity you designate (in this case Pedal the Cause) in 60-75 days. When they do send us the money, it is aggregated and without either donor or rider information. It is very hard for us to match these Facebook donations to our riders without any donor data, and that is why there is no way for us to add them to your rider profile without having your donor data. If you have donations made to you via Facebook that you would like credited to your ride, email us at info@pedalthecause.org with a screenshot of the donations made to you. We will do our best to match these with donations we have received through Network for Good.
