Welcome to

Be Inspired to Create a World Without Cancer

How it Works

Register and choose your own physical challenge to complete on your own on Sept 26 & 27: biking, spinning, running, walking, another physical challenge or a combination of several activities. Set a fundraising goal, but know that for 2020 only, we are not enforcing fundraising commitments and your fundraising is best efforts. Your $50 registration fee gets you a high-quality performance tee by Primal, a rider bag with various goodies, and access to our live-streamed Inspirational Program and various interactive opportunities.

Fundraise & Engage

Update your Pedal the Cause profile page with a new photo, and updated story, and link a YouTube video. Share your page with your friends, family and network. Tell them what activity you are inspired to complete for Pedal the Cause this year and ask for their support. As always, 100% of the money your raise funds innovative cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St Louis Children’s Hospital. 100%!  Also look for opportunities to engage with the Pedal family over the summer, with training, wellness initiatives and other activities.

On September 26 & 27, complete your physical challenge on one or both days on your own, in small groups or together with your family as social distancing allows. During the weekend, join us for a live-streamed Inspirational Program and prepare a meal from cooking videos by our Taste the Cause chefs. Although there will be no in-person event, we can all connect through various interactive activities. Share your experience on social media, and tag @pedalthecause and use the hashtags #pedalthecause and #inspired so we can all follow along! Remember, fundraising continues until October 31.

Ride, spin, walk, run, or choose your own physical challenge.

Kids Challenge

Kids can participate too and can choose to ride or their own physical challenge!

What do you receive with your $50 registration? This answer and more in our FAQs section.

The safety of our participants is, as always, our top priority. With that in mind, we have determined it is not safe to have an in-person event this year. The Pedal the Cause staff and board of directors have weighed all the options, and it was an incredibly difficult decision to make. Based on the recommendations by the CDC and knowing that so many in our Pedal family are immune compromised, we know we are making the right call. Taking our event virtual now allows us to dedicate the next 4 months to raising as much money for cancer research as possible, and we hope you will join us on this path.

Your registration fee covers the costs of the benefits we are providing for each participant. This includes a high-quality Primal performance tee, a rider bag with a few goodies, and access to our live-stream Inspirational Program. As we do every year, we rely on registration fees to help keep our lights on and to put on a first-class event. Producing a virtual event still presents costs that we must cover. Your support is key to our long-term sustainability!

We rely on our participants to set goals, reach incentive levels, and to fundraise to be best of their abilities. However, as a result of the economic uncertainties brought about by COVID-19, we will not enforce fundraising commitments for 2020.

We recommend you ride your bike where you are most comfortable and where the current social distancing guidelines allow. This may be using your driveway as your personal start/finish line, or this may mean driving to a dedicated bike trail for your ride. Ride solo or make it a family affair. It’s up to you! We encourage you to get creative. Please do not plan on riding the courses we have used at Pedal the Cause in the past, so we can avoid too many riders on one road. Look for route suggestions, training rides and virtual ride programming for spinners on our website as we get closer to September!

Unfortunately, due to social distancing guidelines we cannot hold any in-person training rides this year. Click here for a list of routes to help you train for Pedal the Cause weekend.

Registered riders received an email the week of June 15th with details of how these funds can be transferred or applied in different ways. Look for this email or contact us at info@pedalthecause.org with any questions.

Registration this year includes a high-quality fully sublimated performance t-shirt (see design above!). Regardless of what kind of personal challenge you undertake for Pedal the Cause Inspired – riding, running, walking, spinning, or something else – you will be able to show your Pedal the Cause pride in comfort and style. We are selling 2020 PTC cycling jerseys and shorts in the same design which can be purchased here until July 29.

This year, every participant will receive a custom box mailed to them with their performance tee/jersey, rider bag, brandana, cowbell, ziplock gear bag and a few other fun surprises! Look for yours in mid-September about a week for Pedal the Cause. Note, last minute registrants (after September 14) may not receive their box delivered in time for event weekend. If you reach the King of the Mountains fundraising incentive level or higher ($5,000+), you will get your packet personally delivered to your doorstep! More info to come.
