If you become a registered participant or volunteer, we collect personal information including name, email address, mailing address, phone number and a valid credit card of your choice. All credit card information is securely stored with our third-party payment partner and processor, and not within the Pedal the Cause database. Your information will be used to create an account that will provide you access to future reports related to your event and pay any applicable registration fee and/or cover any minimum fundraising guarantees should you not reach your indicated minimum fundraising at the close of our annual campaign. You will be provided with a secure User ID and password to access your personal profile. Do not share your password with anyone. Our website assigns a personal identification number and sends it to your computer in the form of a small text file, called a “cookie.” The use of this cookie allows you to visit password-restricted portions of our website for which you have security access. This is a temporary cookie and is deleted after you close your browser each time you visit our website.

When you pay for your registration fee, guarantee your minimum fundraising amount, or donate, we will collect information including credit card type, card number, card expiry date and billing address. We do not maintain any credit card information within our fundraising platform and all payment processing is done confidentially through the payment partner and processor. You may request that your personal information, event specific participation, or fundraising results viewable by the general public to be removed. We may elect to store your data until it is no longer necessary to conduct our annual audit of our nonprofit financials. We reserve the right to anonymize your records removing all personal identifiable information but allowing us to maintain accuracy for total participation and event registration types, total members for a specific team, and aggregate fundraising event totals. In the event we are unable to complete your request, we will let you know that we are unable to do so and why. Depending on the location from where you access the Pedal the Cause site, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of certain data covered by this Privacy Policy and exercise all other rights set forth in Articles 15-22 of the GDPR.
